These are the most popular Christmas chocolates in each box, research says

Real talk: is there anything worse than delving your hand into the Christmas chocolate tin, only to discover your favourites have gone and all that you're left with is the odd Bounty and brown wrapper?

Er, yes actually, there is – when your smug friend who just loves coconut chocolate gets to come along and eat their favourites, while you're sulking over whether it's better to eat one you don't like or to not have one at all.

(Side note: eat one you don't like. Even if it's out of anger).

YouGov's latest research spoke to people all over the nation, and asked them what their favourite Quality Street, Roses, Celebration and Hero was. Below, the data reveals who came out on top.

Quality Street

Definitely a surprise winner in The Purple One, and who knew Strawberry Delight was so popular? Down at the bottom the Toffee penny, Orange Crunch and Coconut Eclair haven't done so well.

Maltesers Teaser is a clear winner in the Celebrations box, with Galaxy and Galaxy Caramel coming in second and third. But who knew a Bounty was more popular than Snickers, Mars, Milky Way and Twix? Shook.

As for Heroes, which are arguably all good, the Twirl and Dairy Milk square came out on top, followed by the Wispa, Dairy Milk Caramel, Fudge, Creme Egg Twisted and the Eclair respectively.
